Laurie Galiotte came to the United States and H. Frank Carey High School in 2008 from Haiti. Far from home, she began writing poetry as a way to express her feelings. In 2011, Laurie worked diligently and had her collection of poetry published. “There is Nothing But Life” is a collection of Laurie’s poetry based on her life experiences and encounters. Laurie is an inspiration to all our students. Her advice to aspiring authors is to “create your own destiny because . . . there is nothing but life.”
