Welcome to Foods and Nutrition

This course is designed to give students information about the importance of good health and nutrition. Students enrolled in this course will challenge their appetite by trying new foods, gain nutritional knowldege and develop basic food preparation skills influencing them to carry these new found skills into adulthood thus, allowing them to make healthier food choices later on in their life. They will also explore career possibilities in the food industry and identify personal characteristics necessary for these careers.The use of real-world relevant tasks, scenarios, and community involvement is an integral part of the course as is the use of library research, class discussions, and group activities.
