    Happy New Year, Sewanhaka!
     
    We're looking forward to a great year in the library, and we wish you all a wel-read 2013!
     
    Our book fair was a great success - hopefully you were able to get some great reads for both you and your family. We have a lot of new books just in time for the beginning of the year - here's just a quick sampling of some of the titles.

  • New Books for November 2012

    Just a quick update with some of the new titles we have in the library.
     
    • The entire Demonata series by Darren Shan
    • Everyday by David Levithan
    • I Am J by Cris Beam
    • The Blind Side by Michael Lewis
    • Many Skies: Alternative Histories of the Sun, Moon, Planets and Stars by Arthur Upgren
    • Girls In Love: A Summer Girls Novel by Hailey Abbott
     
    In addition to these titles there are many more new books! Come check them out at the library.

  • Welcome Back!

    Welcome back Sewanhaka HS students!
     
    If you are reading this, chances are you're curious about the library and what it has to offer. Hopefully the following does a good job of filling you in about everything the library can do for you!
     
    1. First of all - Welcome new 7th graders! I look forward to meeting you all during library orientation in September!
     
    2. New computers - You will notice that we have a lot of BRAND NEW computers at the library. We're all very excited about them. You will notice that we now also have two rows of computers in the main room of the library - the computers in the back are to be used by classes only.
     
    3. We also have a new copy machine and scanner. Remember - copies are 10 cents a page. If you need to use the scanner, speak to a librarian and we will gladly set it up for you.
     
    4. New books! We have over 100 new books that we will be rolling out through the month of September. You can find most of them on the book displays when you enter the library, or on the cart, appropriately labeled, "NEW BOOKS" next to my desk.
     
    5. Remember - if you need help with anything, you can ask a librarian!
     
    Once again, on behalf of the library staff, welcome back! We wish all of you an excellent school year!

  • Hunger Games eBooks

    The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins is now available on the Sewanhaka High School Library webpage as an eBook - in order to read them follow these easy steps:
     
    1. Click on "eBooks" on the menu and choose "FolletShelf"
    2. Organize books by "Newest"
    3. Click on the book you want to read.
    4. Log-in with the username and password: student
    5. Select "READ ONLINE" 
     
    You can read the book as frequently as you want, as long as you want. The book can be read by one student at a time. As soon as you close the window, it becomes available to other students.
     
    If you have any questions ask Mr. Mirsky or Mr. McLaughlin in the library.
