Sewanhaka High School junior Shafaq Khan was named a finalist in the Friends of Sagamore Hill Theodore Roosevelt Public Speaking contest in May.
After years of hard work and dedication, New Hyde Park Memorial’s Class of 2016 completed their high school experience when they took hold of their diplomas at their commencement ceremony at Hofstra University’s David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on June 26.
The Sewanhaka Central High School District Office of PPS and the SEPTA organization honored eight graduating sixth-grade students from the Elmont and Floral Park-Bellerose elementary school districts with certificates and scholarships to recognize their outstanding accomplishments and award-winning essays that the students wrote about their “someone special.”
H. Frank Carey junior Maira Khan was accepted into Stony Brook University’s Garcia Research Scholar Program for high school students. The program offers high school students the opportunity to perform research on the forefronts of polymer science and technology.
